“I only had sex with her on Saturdays” – Says the shameless uncle who raped 14-year-old niece for 3 years

What is it with all these incestuous rape cases??? This is one to many!

A Magistrate Court in Lagos today addressed a rape case involving a 14-year-old girl Faith (not real name) who had been a sex slave for her uncle Bright Chigozie, for three years.

Faith, whose mother is in Mali, was reportedly brought from Delta State after her uncle promised her a quality education in Lagos. The naive Faith never knew she would be turned into her uncle’s slave.

27-year-old Bright raped the victim four times a week between 2013 and 2016, with threats to kill her if anyone should hear about it.

Faith who acted accordingly for 3 years, eventually confided in her classmate in school who in turn advised her to report the case to the Police, after which Bright was arrested.

“My uncle brought me from Delta State in 2013 to live with him in Lagos and promised to give me a quality education. He is my mother’s brother. My mother lives in Mali.

“I was 11 years old when he started having sex with me. He initially took me to a woman. He had an issue with the woman and I started living with him. He had sex with me four times in a week.

“He warned me not to tell anyone. But when I could no longer bear it, I told one of my friends in school and she advised me to report him to the police” Faith lamented.

The suspect admitted to having slept with his niece but said it was just once a week and not the little’s girl claims of four times a week.

He said, “I was the one who brought her to Lagos. When she arrived in Lagos in September 2013, she stayed with me for a week and I took her to a woman because I was advised not to leave her alone at home.

“She had a misunderstanding with the woman and the woman said she did not want her again. Since then, she had been staying with me and we had sex every Saturday. But I ensured I did not ‘release’ into her private parts” Bright shamelessly confessed.

The charge read, “That you, Chigozie Bright, on April 9, 2016, on Akinola Street, Aguda, Surulere, Lagos State, in the Apapa Magisterial District, did defile a 14-year-old girl by inserting your penis in her private parts, thereby committing an offence punishable under Section 137 of the Criminal Law of Lagos State, 2011.”
